Srinagar, 14 August 2026: The Rotunda Hygeia mourns the untimely passing of Dr. Shrikant Yatnale, a pioneering embryologist, respected teacher, mentor, and a cherished member of the institution, who dedicated 23 years of relentless service to the field of assisted reproduction across India.
Dr. Yatnale made an enduring contribution to the growth of fertility care at Rotunda Hygeia in Jammu and Kashmir. As an embryologist, he played a pivotal role in establishing and strengthening laboratory systems, developing embryology protocols, patient-care SOPs, and quality standards, and nurturing a culture of ethical and compassionate fertility care.
Dr. Yatnale remained steadfast in his commitment to patients and colleagues, ensuring continuity of fertility care even in the most difficult times in the last two decades.
A pioneer among the early professionals who helped establish IVF and test-tube baby services in India, his contribution extended far beyond the laboratory. His knowledge, humility, kindness, and willingness to teach touched countless professionals and families.
